Atrophaneura mencius

Atrophaneura mencius is a butterfly from the Palaearctic ecozone (Asia). The first description was in 1862 by C. & R. Felder. The wingspan is about 10 – 11 cm. This butterfly is a member of the family PAPILIONIDAE. Atrophaneura alcinous is dark-brown. It has big red spots on its hind wings. The underside of the body has red hairs.
