Genus: HAMADRYAS
The following species are members of the genus HAMADRYAS and they are represented on this homepage.
The genus HAMADRYAS was described in 1806 by Hübner. It contains at present approx. 20 species. The genus HAMADRYAS is thereby a small group under the Nymphalidae. All species of this genus have speckled wings. Because of these speckled wings, they are master of camouflage.
HAMADRYAS butterflies are from South America.
