Graphium codrus

Graphium codrus is a simply coloured and common butterfly from Australasia / Indomalaya ecozone (Australia). The first description was in 1777 by Cramer. With a wingspan of 10.0 – 12.0 cm Graphium codrus is a big member of the family PAPILIONIDAE. The butterfly is black with greenish or yellowish spots.

Description

The forewings are black. There is only one chain of big greenish or yellowish spots. Nearby body the ground is grey.
The underside is a copy of upside, but the ground is brown.

The hind wings are black and grey and have tails. The margin is ridged.

Graphium codrus is a butterfly of the Australasia / Indomalaya ecozone (Australia). The distribution extend from Philippines and Malaysia to Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.
