Morpho luna is an uncommon member of genus Morpho, because it has no brilliant blue scales. The butterfly is white with some black spots and eyes.

The forewings are white. The pinion is black. At the wing leading edge there is a short black stripe. Some structure of underside show through the wing.
The underside is white. At the wing leading edge there are two short brown stripes. There are three small black eyes.
The hind wings are white. The margin is ridged. At the margine there is a chain of black spots. Some structure of underside show through the wing.
