Subfamily PARNASSIINAE contains two tribes. Furthermore the tribes contains the genus and the genus combine with the specific name accuratly defined any species.

Common butterflies like Apollo or Festoon are members of PARNASSIINAE. These species are in all development stages uneatable, because the larvae  life on toxic plants and accumulate the poison in body.
Typical notes of members of PARNASSIINAE are rounded wings and little tails on bachwings.
