The genus PAPILIO contain about 200 species and it is the biggest group of PAPILIONIDAE. PAPILIO butterflies (Swallowtails) lives on each continent without Antarctic. The biggest biodiversity is in tropical areas. Feedplants are members of family LAURACEAE, RUTACEAE and UMBELLIFERAE.

The genus ATROPHANEURA was described in 1865 by Reakirt. It contains at present about 29 species. ATROPHANEURA butterflies are from Asia and Australia. These species are in all development stages uneatable, because the larvae life on toxic plants and accumulate the poison in body.They are also called Batwings or Windmills.
