The genus PACHLIOPTA was described in 1875 by Scudder. It contains at present about 16 species. PACHLIOPTA butterflies are from Asia and Australia. These species are in all development stages uneatable, because the larvae live on toxic plants and accumulate the poison in body.
They are also called Roses.
